Refer to this checklist when the Read Date of a meter is older than 3 days
Have someone physically check the meter for the following:
Meter Under the Home
- First, Check the VN ID and verify it matches the ID in WaterScope.
- If not, please let Metron know the correct Meter ID
- Is there metal or concrete skirting around the home?
- If yes, you will need a meter with a longer antenna to boost the signal
- Does the antenna or cord have any bends or breaks?
- If yes, you will need a new antenna
- Is the LCD display still showing data?
- If not, please send a picture of the face of the meter and meter ID to support@metronfarnier.com for a warranty replacement register.
Meter in Pit
- Is the pit lid metal or concrete?
- If yes, we can send out a Pit Mount Antenna that can thread to the outside of the pit lid to boost the signal.
- Is the pit filled with water, covering the top of the meter?
- A Pit Mount Antenna will help this too, extending the end of the antenna out of the water.
If you have checked all these boxes, and are still not sure why a meter isn’t reading, please email a picture of the meter to customerservice@metron-s2.com for troubleshooting assistance.
Final Note –
If the READ DATE is current, but the meter is not measuring water, then the meter is likely clogged. Check out our video on how to clean out a meter https://youtu.be/5QZj0GZ6TcY
